netTrekker Village

I LOVE training! I love connecting with teachers and sharing with them how to use netTrekker, and next month I have two integration workshops lined up. The first one is on digital storytelling and the second is how to use netTrekker with some cool programs/apps on the web (such as VoiceThread, Glogster, etc.) I want to make sure it's refreshing, so I'd love to know if there are any new tools out there I might be missing. If so, can you share the name of the tool, the URL, how you use it, and if possible a sample.

And since I'm asking, I think it's only fair to share. So here's one example:

As a way to share knowledge learned while on a field trip of a zoo and through the reinforcements and enrichment activities found in netTrekker, I created a Glogster about Polar Bears. All information, the sound byte, the images, and even the video were found in netTrekker. (I'll admit, I cheated on the video by grabbing it from YouTube because it was easier, but I first found it in netTrekker!). Click on Polar Bears to see my sample project.

If you created a VoiceThread or Glogster that utilizes netTrekker, please feel free to share those as well!

Today on netTrekker Tip Tuesdays, I shared several different ideas on what to do with netTrekker. We'll be adding the video soon. I would love to hear your thoughts for other ideas!

Hey Carmen! Sorry we missed you! It was taped, and will be added on the Village soon. Can you share the name of the paper comic tool you learned at your pre-conference? I cannot remember what it was and I really want to learn about it!.

Do you want me to copy the folder to Palm Beach?

Hello Danielle,
I was soooooooo disappointed to miss my first meeting. Not a Good Day! But we just used the Flip camera and recorded math concepts on white paper. One person filmed, another moved the papers in sequence, and the other one read. Then we plugged it on the computer and enjoyed ourselves. It is a good idea to have a manicure before...
Thanks for responding, hope to get virtually together again.

In my computer lab I use a few tools to enhance digital learning. I let the students use the SMART airliner with the smartboard. They work from the rug - add (for example) one piece to a drawing in KidPix and pass it to the next student. Students get practice with the remote style of the mouse. I also use the Kanguru for narrating their power point slide shows. I recently learned how to use Gloster and will investigate using it for our recent 3rd grade Monterey Bay Aquarium Field Trip.

Hi Missy and Carmen,

There should be in your school (Missy)/ district (Carmen) folder a folder titled "netTrekker Sample Projects". Inside is the February Resource Folder we dispalyed on Tuesday.

Working on March's now. Any ideas, please feel free to share!
