Scientists have been exploring places around the Earth that they call “Blue Zones” and found commonalities amongst the people in these areas that allows them to live much longer and happier lives. Read the nT blog to learn more about Blue Zones and visit Blue Zones at www.bluezones.com. The website holds periodic "Quests" and provides a multitude of educational resources including ready-to-use lesson plans and a Curriculum Guides correlated to National Standards. What do you think of the Blue Zone Project? With what subjects could it be integrated? How could you use this in the classroom? Is this something we need to be teaching students today?

Chris -

This is a great project - very interesting way for educators to incorporate science, social studies, language arts, etc. into an authentic learning experience. After watching all the runners in the Flying Pig Marathon this weekend I am inspired to focus my efforts in these areas again for me and my family. I was also inspired by your athletic display in LA - although I don't think I have the coordination to pull off any hackeysack adventures :)
