Twilight Tour, NECC 2009

Join us as we tour Washington DC’s National Mall at twilight and explore the beautifully lit monuments. An experienced tour guide will share the stories not found in your history books and we will explore how to use technology to enhance the learning experiences on field trips.

The evening will begin at 5 PM with dinner. The dinner location will be announced in the middle of May. Dinner will feature a discussion on President Obama’s stimulus package and what it means to education and technology.

The tour portion will begin at 7 PM at the corner of 15th and Constitution Avenue NW. Make sure you’re dressed comfortably and you’ve got your walking shoes on since the tour is just over one mile long. (Bonus points if you have a netTrekker t-shirt to wear!) Bring your iPhones, iPod Touches (the National Mall has wireless Internet), and digital cameras as we explore the monuments and use technology to enhance the field trip.

As a matter of fact, if you’d like to enter a drawing for a special prize before the start of the tour, complete a digital story (one to three minutes long) on one of your favorite Washington monuments and feature a netTrekker resource that helped you learn more about it. Upload the video to netTrekker Village and send Danielle Abernethy the link (You can click on SEND MESSAGE at the top of this page). We’ll look at some of these videos during the tour. If you need assistance with the video uploading, Danielle will be more than happy to assist. Just drop her a line.

During the tour you will have chances to win prizes, using the technology and our guide to answer trivia questions.
